If you have followed the previous articles on How Can Blogging Earn You Money (if not, please read the previous articles before reading this), then you should be thinking how can you make a successful blog. One of the major characteristics of a successful blog is that the blog is able to engage the visitors. In another words, the blog is able to provide a compelling force to urge the visitors to comment on the blog and to return to the blog to check for updates. By doing this, you will be able to retain your old visitors while welcoming new visitors. As a result, the overall traffic of your blog will gradually increase. Gaining traffic is the first step to conversion, and if your traffic is increasing, it is a good sign indeed!
So, how can a blog engages the visitors and the readers? One of the easiest ways to engage the readers is to ask the readers questions, and ask them to give comment on a particular issue. By asking “do you agree with me? I would like to hear your opinions” or “I would like to know what do you think about my ideas, your feedback will be highly appreciated” et cetera, you are actually inviting the readers to comment on your post. It sounds easy and everyone knows this fact, however, what happens in reality is most people failed to reply to the comments. They merely asking for comments but they never check the comments from the readers, hence, the readers will think that their comments are useless and are not being appreciated by the writers. Slowly, the readers will leave the blog, and will not come back anymore. Therefore, an important lesson here is to always reply the comment, give the readers encouragement to give more comments. By doing this, you will surely engage the readers in your post and of course, your return visits will surely increase. Do you agree?
However, merely replying to the comments will not provide enough satisfaction to the readers. You have to reward them. What do I mean by this? Sometimes, the readers may think that their comments are brilliant, however if you do not give them credits, they will think that you do not appreciate their comments. So, again, you will lose your visitors. What you can do here is to give acknowledgment to the people who comment in your blog. You can do this by mentioning the readers’ names in your next post, and briefly talking about their comments, and what do you feel and what do you think about their comments. When the readers return to your blog and surprisingly, they see their names in your post, they will definitely be overwhelmed and further comment or thank you for acknowledging them.
In a nutshell, a successful blog must be able to engage the readers. Everyone can blog, but not everyone can blog correctly. This is only an idea of mine, if you have more ideas on what a successful blog should have, feel free to comment on this post.

You are totally right about this!
I am still a relatively new blogger, so I’m not so great in this area yet, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind from now on when writing my blog posts. Hopefully I’ll get better soon!
Thanks for the insight
